The Persian Poet Watercolour Series
Inspired by Persian poetry, memory, land, and ritual, The Persian Poet Watercolour Series is a curated collection of artist-grade paints that honour centuries of Persian culture, colour, and storytelling.
Housed in a sleek black metal tin, this complete series includes a pure cotton swatch so artists can experience the paint exactly as it was intended — on fine paper, with honest flow and depth.
Each pan is handmade using only the finest professional pigments, all rated Excellent Lightfastness (ASTM I), ensuring longevity, vibrancy, and archival quality. At the heart of every colour is our mastered binder recipe — the quiet secret behind exceptional watercolour. It delivers a smooth, glossy flow, rewets effortlessly, dries naturally, and never turns chalky or dull. Some of our colours are granulated and expose other beautiful colours that they’re mixed with once they settle on the paper. This in turn creates a beautiful effect.
These paints were poured slowly, intentionally, while Persian music played and chai was sipped — love and tradition embedded into every pan. Once you paint with them, you won’t want to paint with anything else.
The Colours & Their Stories
Firoozeh — Persian Turquoise
A colour woven deeply into Persian architecture, jewellery, and poetry. Firoozeh reflects the sacred turquoise domes of architecture and the protective stone believed to bring peace and fortune. This luminous turquoise is infused with a fine gold fleck, catching light like sunlight on ancient tile-work.
Pomegranate
A powerful symbol in Persian culture — of life, fertility, love, and rebirth. This rich, jewel-toned red echoes the fruit found in Persian poetry and ceremony, from Yalda Night to myth and verse. Bold, grounding, and timeless.
Hosseini Grape
Named after the beloved table grape grown on family farms in Urmia, Iran. This colour carries memory — sun-ripened fruit, vineyards, and generational harvests. Deep, complex, and organic, it paints with warmth and nostalgia.
Lapis Lazuli
A stone treasured for thousands of years, used in manuscripts, art, and ornament.
Though it appears almost black in the pan, it blooms into a deep Prussian blue, crowned with a soft gold fleck — a nod to illuminated Persian manuscripts and celestial symbolism.
Zaytoun (Olive)
Meaning olive in Persian, Zaytoun represents peace, earth, and endurance.
A muted, natural green that grounds a palette — quiet, ancient, and endlessly usable.
Caspian Sky
Inspired by the moody rains over the Caspian Sea, where sky and water blur into one.
This colour mirrors movement, mist, and reflection — fluid, atmospheric, and poetic.
Chai
Tea is ritual. Conversation. Comfort.
Chai is a deep, luxurious red — because in Persian culture, the darker the tea, the better. Warm, grounding, and full-bodied, like the shared moments it represents.
Rosewater
Used generously in Persian desserts and drizzled over ice cream, rosewater is softness and celebration.
This delicate, romantic hue is subtle yet luminous — floral without being fragile.
Saffron
Though saffron threads are red, once drawn into water they bloom into a deep golden yellow-orange.
Rare, precious, and revered, this colour honours one of Persia’s most treasured gifts to the world.
Craft, Tradition & Performance
Our paints are:
Artist-grade
ASTM I (Excellent Lightfastness)
Smooth, glossy, and richly pigmented
Easy to rewet
Perfectly balanced between moisture and drying
Never chalky, never dull
Traditionally, watercolours belong on ceramic, not plastic. Plastic causes beading and hides true colour mixing. That’s why we honour tradition by pairing our paints with handcrafted ceramic reusable pans, made from unique clays chosen specifically for watercolour performance. Our ceramic pans are approximately equivalent to a half pan or slightly more of paint.
For Every Artist
Whether you are a professional painter or just beginning your journey, our paints are for everyone. These paints invite slowness, ritual, and intention — just as Persian poetry does.
Once you try them, you won’t go anywhere else.
Please note: Our products are hand made. This means there will always be small imperfections. We believe this is the beauty of our products and we embrace our organic practice by saying our products are imperfectly perfect.
