Persian Tea

In Iran, tea is the pause between moments.
It steams softly on the stove, waits patiently in a samovar, and is poured not in haste but in welcome.

Persian tea arrived long ago along winding trade routes, yet it quickly made itself at home. From the misty tea fields of the north to bustling city kitchens and quiet village courtyards, its deep amber colour became part of daily life. A small glass is filled, held delicately, admired briefly against the light — then sipped slowly.

Tea is rarely alone. A date rests on the saucer, or a shard of rock sugar melts gently on the tongue between sips. Sometimes there are walnuts, dried mulberries, rose-scented sweets, or simple biscuits passed hand to hand. Sweetness is not stirred into the tea; it is tasted alongside it.

To offer tea in Iran is to offer presence. It marks conversations, comforts guests, seals friendships, and softens silence. There is always time for another glass.

This collection draws from that quiet ritual — the warmth, the colour, the softness of steam rising — moments captured like brushstrokes in water and light.

Our ceramic pans and paints: Each pan is carefully handcrafted using our signature, closely guarded binder recipe, formulated for smooth application, depth of pigment, and a velvety rich finish that can also be reactivated. Each ceramic pan is hand-made in our studio by us and fired by a local ceramic studio. Ceramic is used traditionally in watercolours to help avoid beading and allow the artist to see the blend on the ceramic palette. (Check our our ceramic palette range)

We only source the very best quality professional grade pigments that are a reputable artist grade, with the highest ASTM I- excellent rating. We don’t cut corners either unlike other makers. We use a ratio of 1:1 on our paints so you get stronger and longer lasting paints.

Please note: Most good binder recipes have clove oil included, but our binder recipe has a little more to ensure in years to come, that no mould will develop. This sometimes makes our paints smell a little stronger than others.

Pan size:

Each pan is approximately equivalent to half a standard pan to slightly over, as our ceramic pans are handmade. Please take this into consideration before purchasing—no two are ever exactly the same.

Imperfectly perfect:

Our paints and pans are entirely handmade. Small variations and imperfections are part of their nature and are embraced as a mark of true craftsmanship. They are a symbol of the care, time, and love poured into every piece we create.

A colour rooted in history, crafted by hand, and made to be lived with on paper.
